Only a few BGMU customers still without power

Bowling Green, Ky – A spokesman for Bowling Green Municipal Utilities told WKU Public Radio Wednesday that only 20-25 customers were still without power. Miles McDaniel said BGMU crews worked overnight to restore power to residents. Falling trees and limbs knocked down power lines throughout the BGMU service region Tuesday.

Former IN Rep says closing Gitmo a mistake

Bowling Green, Ky – A former US Representative from southern Indiana believes it would be a mistake to close the terrorist detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. John Hostettler toured the prison in 2005 as a member of the House Armed Services Committee. President Obama recently signed an executive order that calls for the facility to be closed. Owensboro is Home to New Bourbon Distillery

Owensboro, Ky – In Owensboro, the Charles Medley Distillery has been largely dormant for more than two decades. That's changing now, as the distillery will soon become Kentucky's most far-western bourbon producer. WKU Public Radio went to Daviess County to meet plant manager Derek Schneider, who explained bourbon's growing popularity both here and abroad, and how Owensboro's underground limestone river will be the key to great bourbon production.

Commercial real estate in region taking hit from bad economy
