Bunning Wants Sick Worker Program Shifted to Department of Labor

Washington, D.C. – U-S Senator Jim Bunning is criticizing the Department of
Energy's handling of the sick worker program. The Republican
from Northern Kentucky says he is especially concerned about
workers from Paducah and other parts of the country, who have
suffered illnesses related to their work at nuclear power plants
during the cold war era.

Murray State lawsuit settled

Murray, KY – The family of a student killed in a dormitory fire at Murray State six years ago has settled a lawsuit with the university for $200,000.
Michael Minger's mother had sought as much as $4,000,000 in the four year old suit.
The university has denied fault in Minger's death in September 1998. The Niceville, Florida sophomore music student died of smoke inhalation in the fire at Hester Hall. Police said the fire was intentionally set, but a jury deadlocked in the trial of the only person charged.
