Pre-Pay Gas Mandatory In Bowling Green

Bowling Green, KY – Bowling Green city commissioners have approved an ordinance that makes pre-paying for gasoline mandatory.
City police and other proponents of the ordinance say it virtually eliminate gas station drive offs. Investigations of drive offs took more than 1,000 hours of police time last year with few arrests.
Supporters say it would free police to investigate other crimes.
Opponents say the ordinance will drive business away from local stations because of increased inconvenience.
