Federal Judge Says Medicaid Services Should Be Restored

Lexington, KY – A Federal Judge says Medicaid services should be
reinstated to people whose nursing home or in-home
care was cut off in Kentucky. U-S District Judge Joseph Hood says
the people effected should be reinstated to Medicaid
within fifteen days.

Former Democratic Candidate Dismissed at State Park

Gilbertsville, KY – Fletcher Administration officials are citing alleged misuse
of state property and state merit employees as the reasons
for firing Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park
Superintendent Brian Roy. Roy's attorney says his client
will fight the dismissal.

Authorities Investigate Indiana Helicopter Crash

Evansville, IN – One man is dead and three people are injured in
a helicopter crash in Southern Indiana. Authorities
say the medical helicopter was flying a patient
from Saint Joseph Hospital in Huntingburg to
Deaconess Hospital in Evansville when it
crashed near Lynnville.

State Police Sergeant Todd Ringle says the patient
died. The patient has been identified as 63 year
old Jerry Leonard of Birdseye, Indiana.

Kentucky Army National Guardsman Killed in Iraq

Frankfort, KY – A Kentucky Army National Guardsman from Warren County
has been killed in Iraq. First Lieutenant Robert Henderson
the Second was killed Saturday near the Southern Iraqi
city of Diwaniyah.

The State Department of Military Affairs reports the 33 year
old Henderson was a Platoon Leader in the Owensboro-
based Detachment 1, 21-23rd Transportation Company.
The unit was deployed in January.

Key State Lawmaker Injured in Auto Crash

Richmond, KY – One person has been killed and a state legislator has
been injured in a highway crash in Richmond. Representative
Harry Moberly was treated for broken bones at Pattie A. Clay
hospital in Richmond.

The Madison County Coroner's office confirms that a
second person was pronounced dead at the scene of
the crash. Identity of the victim has been withheld, pending
notification of family members.
