Duckworth is sharing Mr. Baseball honors with Devin Hairston of Tates Creek, marking the first time there has been a tie for the award.</p><p>Duckworth led the Henderson County Colonels to back-to-back state semifinal appearances in 2012 and 2013. Kelly went on to become WKU’s all-time women’s leader in points and rebounds, and was taken by the Houston Comets in the 2008 WNBA draft.</p><p>Another member of the KHSAA Hall of Fame Class of 2015 is Ron Bevars, who coached at North Hardin High School in Radcliff for 38 seasons. Bevars retired in 2013 after racking up 805 wins, the fourth-most in Kentucky high school basketball history.</p><p>Bevars led North Hardin to three Sweet 16 semi-finals appearances, and lost the 1982 state championship on a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ph4Fki24yLI" target="_blank">half-court, game-winning buzzer-beater </a>by Laurel County’s Paul Andrews. The Gatorade player of the year award is given annually to a player who demonstrates athletic excellence, academic accomplishments, and exemplary character.</p><p>Duckworth, who has a 3.8 G.P.A., will enroll in WKU this fall.</p><p>Duckworth and his Henderson County High School teammates are taking on Christian County Tuesday in the semifinals of the Second Region Tournament. Strong has been rumored as a possible coaching candidate at Texas after the school announced Mack Brown would not return next season as head coach following 16 years in Austin.</p><p>Officials at the University of Louisville, however, say they never granted Texas permission to speak to Strong about their opening.</p><p>A Texas spokesman says their athletic director won’t release any names related to their search until a decision is made. Pitino said he was told Sunday night that the university was dismissing Behanan.</p><p>While saying Behanan is a “terrific young man in many respects”, Pitino added that he and athletic director Tom Jurich “had gone to the mat” for Behanan following his recent month-long suspension from the team for undisclosed violations of rules.</p><p>Behanan was a Cincinnati native who played his senior year of high school at Bowling Green High. He averaged 10 points and 6 rebounds a game during Louisville’s 2013 national championship season. Elam said he was home when the mail carrier called him out to her truck to see the crate of letters the school had sent him.</p><p>Elam is storing all of his college recruitment letters in his size 16 shoe boxes. So far he’s filled up ten and he says the 182 letters Kentucky yesterday will take up half of an eleventh box.</p><p>Elam is also being recruiting by Louisville, Alabama, Ohio State, and Notre Dame.
