Lone Robber Hits Bowling Green Bank

Bowling Green police received a call of a robbery in progress inside the First Security Bank on Chestnut Street Thursday afternoon. Witnesses say a man entered the bank, showed a handgun tucked in his waistband and demanded money. After receiving an undisclosed amount, the man exited the bank on foot.

He's described as a white male about six feet tall and 180 pounds. At the time of the robbery he was dressed in a black shirt, blue jeans and a black mask and sunglasses that covered most of his face.

Detectives have no suspects and are asking anyone with any information to call them at 393-4000 or Crime Stoppers at 781-CLUE (2583).

Just after noon Wednesday, Bowling Green police say a white male entered the Fairview Avenue branch of American Bank & Trust, displayed a weapon and demanded money.

Police Charge Bowling Green Man With Weekend Murder

Police in Bowling Green have charged a man with with murder in the stabbing death of a man whose body was found in the street of a residential neighborhood.

Police arrested 24 year old Stephan Thomas on Saturday after the stabbing near Veterans Memorial Boulevard. Witnesses reportedly led police to an apartment where Thomas was arrested. The body of 21 year old Tyrese Huffman was found by officers responding to a 911 call around 2:45 a.m. Bowling Green police sat Huffman was stabbed in the neck.

Two WKU Football Players Wounded in Sunday Shooting

Two WKU football players are recovering after being wounded by gunshots outside a bar. A statement from the school's athletic department says defensive lineman Tevin Holliman and defensive back Ricardo Singh were each hit once. their wounds are not considered life threatening.
