UK Freshman Charged in Car Fire

A University of Kentucky student from Elizabethtown has been charged with arson, after an overturned car caught fire last week. Authorities say the vehicle was set ablaze in the wake of the Wildcat basketball team's victory over Louisville.

Historians Reflect on the Impact of the Battle of Shiloh

The Battle of Shiloh, one of the most pivotal and bloody battles of the U.S. Civil War, started 150 years ago today.

WKU Military Historian Jack Thacker and Dr. Glenn LaFantasie of the WKU Institute for Civil War Studies say Shiloh changed the way many military leaders and the general public viewed the war.

Gordon To Leave Hilltoppers

WKU guard Derrick Gordon says he's transferring from the school after leading the mens' basketball team in scoring and rebounding on their way to the NCAA tournament this season. Gordon says he wants to move closer to his family in New Jersey but not say what other schools he's considering. Gordon led WKU with 11.8 points and 6.7 rebounds a game.

Kentucky Jury Convicts Florida Man in Prescription Pill Scheme

A Florida man has been convicted by a jury in Kentucky for operating a prescription drug pipeline between the two states.  A Christian County jury this week deliberated less than a hour and found 27-year-old Peter Nibert guilty of conspiracy to traffic in controlled substances.

McConnell to President Obama: "Back Off" the Supreme Court

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is blasting the White House over remarks made by President Obama regarding the Supreme Court's health care law hearings. During a speech Thursday to the Rotary Club of Lexington, Senator McConnell said the President crossed "a dangerous line this week."
