Mattingly Case In The Hands of Jurors

Louisville, KY – The fate of a former Louisville detective on trial for murder is now in the hands of a jury. Prosecutors and defense attorneys in the McKenzie Mattingly trial gave closing arguments Wednesday morning.
The former Louisville police detective who shot and killed a drug suspect in January said from the withness stand Tuesday that he fired because he felt his life was in danger.

Teacher Protests Planned Around Kentucky

Louisville, KY – Downtown Louisville will be the site Monday afternoon of a demonstration by thousands of teachers and school employees who are dissatisfied with the rising cost of health care.
The demonstration has been organized by the 5,000 member Jefferson County Teachers Association.
It's scheduled on the great lawn at Waterfront Park.
Educators and school employees from surrounding counties are also expected to participate.
