Owensboro, KY. – The general fund reserves for the City of Owensboro are getting an unexpected break. The Federal Emergency Management Agency has announced it is dropping the city's tab for tornado clean-up miscalculations.
Louisville, KY – The remains of a Kentucky soldier who fought in Vietnam three decades ago has been found. Specialist Raymond Bobe will be buried in Russell County this weekend.
The soldier's father, Henry Bobe, says Raymond and four other soldiers died March 16th, 1969 when the U-21 aircraft they were in went down over North Vietnam. Henry Bobe says he is getting some closure on his son's death, since the discovery of the remains.
Frankfort – The state of Kentucky will pay more than five hundred thousand dollars in attorney fees to defend Governor Fletcher's Administration in the on-going investigation into personnel hiring practices.
That figure was disclosed during a meeting of the General Assembly's Government Contract Review Committee. That Committee estimates that the total cost to taxpayers will be about 630 thousand dollars.
