Traveling Evangelist from Hardin County Sentenced

Bowling Green, KY /Louisville, KY – A sixty year old man from Elizabethtown will serve four years in prison for his role in an oil and gas investment scam. Prosecutors say Ernest Cadick fraudulently solicited more than seven hundred thousand dollars from seventeen separate investors, through a company Cadick called Kingdom Oil. U-S Attorney David J. Hale says the fraud involved "a particularly manipulative abuse of trust." Cadick must pay restitution of nearly 720 thousand dollars.

Kentucky Author Says Bourbon Can Help Make a Great Dish, as Well as Drink

Bowling Green, Ky – Everyone knows bourbon is Kentucky's signature spirit. But Albert Schmid says many people don't realize bourbon makes a wonderful cooking ingredient as well. Schmid is a chef and an instructor at Sullivan University's National Center for Hospitality Studies in Louisville. He recently authored "The Kentucky Bourbon Cookbook", which contains seasonal recipes for food and drink. He stopped by our studios and spoke to Kevin Willis.

Postal Study to Determine Whether Bowling Green Facility will be Consolidated

Bowling Green, KY – A study which is expected to be finalized early in 2012 could help to determine the future of mail processing facilities in Bowling Green. Postal Service officials say the dramatic decline nationally in mail volume in the past five years has led to the loss of billions of dollars and the need to increase efficiency.
The goal of the study is to determine capacity needs within the postal network and to take steps to increase productivity.
