The western Kentucky bridge that was taken out by a ship will be repaired by Memorial Day. Governor Steve Beshear on Thusday announced the award of an emergency contract to fix the Eggners Ferry Bridge over Kentucky Lake. The governor says the $7 million fix will save the crucial summer tourism season for the region around Land Between the Lakes.
"Quite honestly, this is a lot sooner than I thought was possible when we first saw the damage to the bridge," remarked Beshear.
The Office of Special Counsel, an independent federal investigative agency, said Friday that Quinton Keel had resigned and that it is in touch with Air Force officials about their final decisions on disciplinary action against the two other accused officials.
