Dan Modlin

Producer/Host

Dan Modlin served as News Director at WKU Public Radio for 23 years, and retired in early 2013. He's a native of Indiana who grew up in a broadcasting family.  A graduate of Ball State University, he worked for several years in the news network business in the Midwest, specializing in agricultural and political coverage, before coming to WKU Public Radio. His reports have earned numerous national  and state  awards for documentary production, public affairs reporting, and enterprise reporting. Dan continues to co-host Barren River Breakdown.

Interstate Closure to Continue Several More Hours

A crash on northbound I-65 at mile marker 19 has interrupted the flow of interstate traffic this afternoon in the Warren County and Simpson County  areas in Kentucky. Northbound traffic on  the interstate is being  detoured to U-S 31W  at mile marker 6 in Simpson County.

New York Blower Company is planning to locate a new manufacturing facility in Grayson County.The investment is expected to create 125 jobs. The company plans to  make an investment of $4.8 million in the project.

Tennessee Officials Warn Consumers about Health Insurance Fraud

Officials in Tennessee say asking hard questions, reading all materials, and scrutinizing websites are important steps to be certain a health insurance offer is legitimate. The Department of Commerce and Insurance says unlicensed companies have been defrauding consumers by collecting premiums for bogus insurance policies, with no intention of paying claims.
