News Director

Kevin is the News Director at WKU Public Radio.  He has been with the station since 1999, and was previously the Assistant News Director, and also served as local host of Morning Edition.  He is a broadcast journalism graduate of WKU, and has won numerous awards for his reporting and feature production.  Kevin grew up in Radcliff, Kentucky and currently lives in Glasgow.

Former Hilltopper Officially Signs Deal with NFL Team

Former WKU defensive back Derrius Brooks has signed a free-agent contract with the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals. Brooks wasn’t picked in last week’s NFL draft, but many players who aren’t drafted later sign free agent deals with teams of their choice.

Indiana's Longest Serving Senator Faces Challenge of His Life in Next Tuesday's Primary

Indiana's Republican Senate Primary is next Tuesday, and it's drawing national attention. For the first time in decades, Senator Richard Lugar is facing a primary challenger. The person opposing Lugar is State Treasurer Richard Mourdock, a conservative with backing from local and national Tea Party organizations. Despite the fact that Lugar has maintained a very conservative voting record since entering the Senate in 1977, Mourdock and his supporters say Lugar is out of touch with ordinary Indiana voters, and not conservative enough for many Indiana Republicans.

Fewer Kentuckians, Americans Claim Religious Affiliation in 2011

A once-in-a-decade report shows membership in religious denominations is dropping in the states of Kentucky and Indiana, as well as throughout the nation. The survey shows the largest decliners include the Roman Catholic Church and many historic Protestant denominations.

WKU Football Start Times Released for Upcoming Season

Western Kentucky University has set kickoff times for its six home football games in 2012, the Athletics Department announced on Tuesday. Three contests will be 6 p.m. (CT) starts, including the season-opener against Austin Peay (Sept. 1) and a home date with Southern Mississippi (Sept. 22).
