Western Kentucky University women’s basketball coach Michelle Clark-Heard added a third signee during the spring period with the addition of Perry County Central guard Kendall Noble. Coach Heard says signing Noble was at the top of her to-do list.

Leaders for the Louisville Orchestra Musicians Association say they've ratified an agreement for a new contract with orchestra management. The announcement is likely to end a months-long impasse. The Courier-Journal reports the deal calls for a one-year contract covering 57 musicians for 30 weeks a year with a base salary level of $925 a week, including medical and pension benefits.

A Warren County elementary school is being honored as one of three Green Ribbon Schools in Kentucky. Richardsville Elementary joins Rosa Parks Elementary in Lexington and Georgetown Middle School in Scott County as the only Kentucky schools to receive the award.

Daviess County Fiscal Court’s next proposed budget has no plans for borrowing money or tax increases. The $74.1 million spending blueprint unveiled this week also calls for county employees to receive 1.5% raises.The Messenger-Inquirer reports Daviess County Judge-Executive Al Mattingly says he wants county employees to receive a 2% raise.

The President of the Kentucky Senate says he’ll never again negotiate with Democrats in private. Cumberland County Republican David Williams says House Democrats reneged on a previous agreement regarding transportation projects in his district.
