Amber Alert Has Been Issued For Missing 3-Month-Old In Tennessee

A Tennessee Amber Alert has been issued for three month-old Ada Mae Raleigh.  Ada is a white female with blonde hair and blue eyes.  She is twenty inches tall and weighs eight pounds.  Ada was removed from a residence located in Sevier County by a white female approximately five feet eight inches tall with waist-length blond hair, wearing dress clothes and black knee-high boots.

Winter Weather Advisory for Parts of Indiana and Kentucky

Accumulating snow is possible through early Monday morning across southern Indiana and north-central Kentucky, including the Elizabethtown and Somerset areas. After an initial mix of rain and snow across southern Indiana, snow is expected to overspread north-central Kentucky and the Bluegrass region during the early morning hours. Accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are possible.

WKU Campuses Closing Early Due to Severe Weather Threat

Given the potential of unusually severe weather this afternoon, the WKU Main and South Campuses will close at 12:30 p.m. today.  The Glasgow campus will close at 1 p.m. Central, and the Elizabethtown/Radcliff/Fort Knox campuses at 1 p.m. Eastern. We are awaiting a possible announcement from the Director of the Owensboro campus.

Much of our region is under a tornado watch today.  Two waves of storms are expected, bringing a threat of severe storms and tornadoes. Some areas are already experiencing severe weather.

Winter Weather Advisories In Effect

Portions of our coverage area are expected to receive a mix of rain and snow Sunday. Snow accumulation is possible--up to four inches in the Eastern parts of our coverage area. More from the National Weather Service.

KYTC Snow and Ice Team members will monitor the winter weather.  Highway crews will be on-call to respond should the winter precipitation become more organized and accumulate to a point it adversely impacts driving conditions.

Winter Weather Advisory in Effect Late Friday thru Saturday Morning

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory.  A pair of weather systems is bringing a wintry mix to the region. Light snow (accumulating one to two inches) and falling temperatures will cause potentially hazardous driving conditions across southern Indiana, central Kentucky, and parts of northern Tennessee Friday night and early Saturday.

US 68/KY 80 Ferry Bridge Salvage Plan

According to a Coast Guard press release, a salvage plan was approved on Friday to remove both the M/V Delta Mariner ship from the damaged Eggner's Ferry Bridge, and the section of the bridge that remains on the nose of the ship.
