The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says "Summer Scrub Week" starts today, and volunteers will be cleaning up roadsides across the state. Its part of a program that started in 1988.
The Cabinet says more than 800 groups participate in the effort, and those groups help to clean more than 5,000 miles of roadway each year. A variety of organizations take part, including businesses, government entities, civic groups, and associations. They adopt a two mile stretch of highway under a two year agreement with the Cabinet.
