Frankfort, KY – The sister of agriculture commissioner Richie Farmer has landed a job in state government. Rhonda Gray has been hired in a new position at the registry of election finance.
Gray, who's a licensed occupational therapist, was hired as assistant executive director by the registry at a Tuesday evening meeting. She'll be paid $65,000 annually.
Registry chairman John Rogers, a Glasgow attorney, says the position was needed. Gray served as finance chairman of her brother's campain in 2003 and Rogers says she became interested in the field.
Several people were interviewed for the position and Rogers says no one intervened on Gray's behalf for the job.
A spokesman for Farmer referred all questions about the hiring to the registry
