Fort Bragg, NC – A jury is being selected for the murder trialof an Army sergeant accused of killing two U.S. officers in Kuwait at the beginning of the Iraq war.
The trial of 33 year old Sgt. Hasan Akbar has been stripped of arguments that he wasn't competent to stand trial
Akbar is charged with two counts of first degree murder and three counts of attempted premeditated murder.
He has confessed more than once to the 2003 attack against fellow members of his 101st Airborne Division unit
The trial is being held at Fort Bragg, North Carolina
