All Lanes Reopen on Dixie Highway Near Train Derailment

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has reopened all lanes of a highway in Louisville at the site where a train derailed. A statement from the agency says all lanes of Dixie Highway were reopened early Tuesday after work that required having lanes closed was completed.

The train derailed in the area late last month, prompting the closure of the highway. Clean-up of the area near the Hardin County line was delayed when a chemical fire broke out in one of the tankers and evacuations of the areas were ordered.

After the fire burned out, crews continued working to clear the area and had partially opened the highway.
