Alleged Rape By UK Athlete Investigated

By AP

Lexington, KY – The woman who alleges she was raped by a University of Kentucky basketball player inside Wildcat Lodge says she's ready to talk to police.
The 29 year old woman told the Lexington Herald-Leader she and her attorney had discussions about the alleged April incident with the player's attorney, the player himself and Kentucky basketball coach Tubby Smith. She says the player and his attorney ended negotiations earlier this year after drug tests showed she did not have a date rape drug in her system as hospital officials had suggested.
Hospital records show she did have marijuana and two other sedatives in her bloodstream. She tells the newspaper she unknowingly took them in a brownie and milkshake given to her at the lodge.
The woman says she can provide cell phone text messages, medical records and a UK basketball program with the suspect's autograph and phone number to back up her claims.
