American Education Week to Start Sunday

The Role of public education will be celebrated  across the nation, starting November 11th. American Education Week runs through Saturday November 17th. Organizers of the event say its an opportunity to celebrate the work done by teachers and school staff. The theme of the week’s schedule is “Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility.”

As part of the event, education support professionals will be honored on Wednesday and substitute teachers will be honored on Friday. The National Education Association, which is helping to promote the event, says its goal is for every child to receive a quality education.
