Attorney General's Investigation Widens
Frankfort, KY – The state attorney general's office has expanded its investigation into alleged illegal hiring by the Fletcher administration.
The Justice Cabinet and Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet have now been added. The probe had previously been focused only on the Transportation Cabinet and the Governor's office.
Attorney General Greg Stumbo said in a motion filed last week in Federal court that a special grand jury has called environmental employees to trstify about hiring practices. He says they will likely be subpoenaed.
Teresa Barton in the justice Cabinet says her office received a subpoena Tuesday related to personnel actions involving the office's eight Merit System workers
