Evansville, IN – One man is dead and three people are injured in
a helicopter crash in Southern Indiana. Authorities
say the medical helicopter was flying a patient
from Saint Joseph Hospital in Huntingburg to
Deaconess Hospital in Evansville when it
crashed near Lynnville.
State Police Sergeant Todd Ringle says the patient
died. The patient has been identified as 63 year
old Jerry Leonard of Birdseye, Indiana.
The three crew members were also injured and
are being treated at hospitals in the area. The
helicopter was from Air Evac, based in Washington,
Indiana. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
