Bowling Green Businessman Contributes $50,000 for Minor League Ballpark

By Jeanine Howard-Cherry

Bowling Green, KY – A Bowling Green businessman is contributing $50,000 to the effort of establishing a baseball stadium in south central Kentucky.
David Garvin says he hopes his contribution will challenge others to either purchase season tickets or otherwise support the baseball project.
The money will be used to purchase general admission tickets for residents of Bowling Green's west side.
Initial plans call for a Class-A team to begin playing next year on the campus of Western Kentucky University until a publicly financed stadium is built for the 2006 seson. Project coordinators say season ticket sales would be used to guarantee bond payments for the construction of the four thousand seat stadium.
