Deck work on the "Blue Bridge" that crosses the Ohio River in Owensboro will be completed in upcoming weeks. When that project is finished, a route designation change will take effect. Transportation Cabinet officials say the bridge will be known as the KY 2262 Ohio River Bridge. They believe the route number change will go more smoothly, since it will coincide with the end of the bridge closure. The bridge now connects KY 2262 with Indiana 161. When it is operational, about 8,500 vehicles cross the structure each day.
