Transportation officials in Kentucky say unexpected complications in repairs being done to an Ohio River Bridge are causing traffic tie-ups in Louisville and southern Indiana. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Spokeswoman Andrea Clifford told the Courier-Journal that officials can't delay the work on the Kennedy Bridge because it is so far gone.
Clifford says exit ramps in Kentucky from I-64 and I-71 to I-65 southbound, which goes over the Kennedy, must remain closed.
In Indiana, exit 0 in Jeffersonville must also remain closed. Will Wingfield, spokesman for the Indiana Department of Transportation, said reduced lanes on the bridge will continue until the end of the week.
