Bunning Stays In D.C. For Debate

By AP

Louisville, KY – Senator Jim Bunning will stay in Washington, D.C. for key votes on Monday and will debate his Democratic challenger, state senator Daniel Mongiardo, via satellite instead of the previously scheduled face-to-face format in lexington.
Bunning and Mongiardo were scheduled to debate at the studios of WKYT-TV. Bunning's campaign laid out several restrictions for the forum, long pursued by Mongiardo.
Now, Mongiardo will appear in the studio and Bunning will debate him from the Republican National Committee headquarters in Washington.
Kim Geveden, Mongiardo's campaign manager, said he asked the Bunning campaign to reschedule the debate but Bunning refused. The campaign also offered to fly Mongiardo to Washington and Bunning's campaign also turned down that request.
