Bowling Green, KY – Following a parade in downtown Columbia, Kentucky Sunday, a celebration honoring Medal of Honor Recipient Dakota Meyer is scheduled at Lindsey Wilson's football stadium. Sonja Roy is the City Clerk-Treasurer and one of the organizers of the activity. She says the event will be free and open to the public, and items such as tee-shirts that are sold at the event will help to raise funds for a scholarship program established through the Marine Corps, honoring Meyer. The celebration at the football stadium is scheduled to start at two pm Sunday.
Dakota Meyer received the Medal of Honor on September 15th, for his actions during Operation Enduring Freedom.
