Commanding General of 101st will Deploy to Iraq

Fort Campbell, KY – Major General David Petraeus will deploy to Iraq later
this week for several weeks of temporary duty. Along
with twelve members of the Division, Petraeus will
work to help develop the Iraqi Security Force architecture
and the Office of Security Cooperation. That's the
Coalition Military Organization charged with assisting
with the training and equipping of Iraq's Army, Border
Police, Police, and Civil Defense Corps.

Major General Petraeus is scheduled to return to the
U-S on May 8th. He will be back at Fort Campbell in
time for the Division's Change of Command ceremony
on May 14th. Petraeus' next assignment, after the
temporary mission in Iraq, is expected to be announced
in coming weeks.
