Commonwealth's Attorneys Fight Budget

By AP

Frankfort, KY – Commonwealth's attorneys from across the state have been lobbying recently against the budget submitted by Governor Fletcher.
Warren County Commonwealth's Attorney Chris Cohron says that as submitted, the budget would cost a minimum of 20 prosecutor jobs statewide. The Prosecutor's Advisory Council will determine where the positions will be cut.
Mike Goins of the state budget director's office says he does not believe the budget requires any full time positions to be eliminated. He says both Commonwealth's Attorneys and county attorneys will recive budget increases in the Governor's proposed budget.
