Company Sets Conditions For Power Plant

Greenville, KY – Representatives of Peabody Coal Company say construction won't start on the Muhlenberg County-based Thoroughbred Power Plant until three things happen.
The permitting process must be completed, a majority of the electricity output has to be sold and partners must commit. They same the same is true for the Southern Illinois-based Prairie State Power Plant.
Local officials and state representatives are clamoring for forward movement on Thoroughbred, counting on thr 450 permanent jobs and $100 million in economic benefits promised.
Meanwhile, the effort to get the Prairie State plant built is reported moving briskly.
