Congressman Geoff Davis Resigns

Kentucky 4th District Congressman Geoff Davis announced he's resigning immediately. Davis had announced months ago that he was not seeking re-election but decided to step down now due to what he calls a recent family health issue that will demand significantly more of his time.

He added "family must come first."

The 53 year old northern Kentucky Republican has served in the House since 2005. In a statement, U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell called Davis an outstanding representative who has served his district with distinction.
