Consensus Forecasting Group Predicts Modest Growth for Kentucky

By Dan Modlin/AP

Bowling Green, KY – Meeting in Frankfort, the Consensus Forecasting Group predicts General Fund revenue of just over nine billion dollars for this fiscal year. The group, which is composed largely of economists from the state's universities, predicts revenues of 9.2 billion dollars and 9.5 billion dollars for the next two fiscal years. Predictions by the Forecasting Group are used by the Kentucky State Legislature to appropriate funds for various agencies and government programs. The estimates will also used by Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear to help develop the state budget.
