Constitutional Amendment Foes Go Door To Door

By AP

Lexington, KY – A group opposing a state constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage has been going door to door trying to raise opposition to the measure.
The group calls itself No On The Amendment. It's been working in nine cities around Kentucky before the November 2nd elections.
If passed, Amendment #1 would change the state Constitution to define marriage as between one man and one woman. It would also ban other marriage-like arrangements such as civil unions and domestic partnerships.
No On The Amendment uses demographics such as age, religion and race to cull voter registration lists for people who seem persuadable.
Campaign manager Sarah Reece says Republicans with a Libertarian bent can be convinced because they don't want the government to intrude on people's lives.
