Construction Work During the State Fair

By AP

Louisville, KY – Construction work on the south wing of the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center will continue during the eleven day Kentucky state fair that opens Thursday.
Some activities will have to be moved, and routes for fair shuttles and trams will be altered.
Fair board president Harold Workman says there should be no inconvenience to the expected 600,000 fairgoers.
Work started early this year on the third phase of the south wing project, which will add 237,000 square feet of space.
The steel framing is up and work has begun on roof decking. The $52,000,000 expansion project won't be completed until October of next year.
