Dam Collapse Scenario

By AP

Jamestown, KY – It's a "what if" scenario, but the "if" could devastate several cities including Nashville.
Emergency management officials in middle Tennessee are planning for the possibility that the Wolf Creek Dam in Kentucky could collapse.
The dam near jamestown is more than a mile across and impounds Lake Cumberland, the largest reservoir east of the Mississippi River. The dam is about 110 air miles east-northeast of Nashville.
For the third time since the 1960's, the Army Corps of Engineers is working on a project to stop seepage at the foot of the dam caused by sinkholes.
A Corps official says it's a serious problem, but says there's no imminent threat of collapse.
