Delta to Reduce Flights From Memphis

Delta Airlines is planning to reduce the number of flights between Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville, and Birmingham. A company spokesman told the Commercial Appeal that the flights are no longer profitable, because passenger demand has slackened.

Delta will also cease its nonstop service from Memphis to Jacksonville, Florida and Birmingham. A company official says the number of daily departures from Memphis will drop from 115 to 94, starting January 3rd. Delta has been reducing its flights at Memphis since its 2008 merger with Northwest Airlines.
