Dem Chairman Garmer Quits

By AP

Lexington, KY – Kentucky Democratic party chairman Bill Garmer has announced his resignation saying he's exhausted after last week's elections.
Garmer is a trial lawyer from Lexington.
He says the party's wide-spread losses in federal and state elections had nothing to do with his decision.
Garmer took over the party's reins during a difficult period in which it had lost the Governorship for the first time in a generation.
Garmer says the long hours devoted to Democratic politics took him away from his family and his law practice.
Garmer says he informed members of the party's state central committee of his decision Friday. He was elected by that committee in January.
