Department of Defense Identifies Those Killed in Iraq

By AP

Karbala, Iraq – The Department of Defense says three 101st Airborne
Division soldiers were killed in a firefight in Karbala.
Forty three year old Lieutenant Colonel Kim Orlando
of Tennessee was Commander of Fort Campbell's
716th Military Police Battalion. Twenty eight year old
staff sergeant Joseph Bellavia of Wakefield, Massachusetts,
was a military police team leader. Officials say
twenty four year old Sean Gilley of San Bernadino,
California was a team leader with the same company.

U-S Central Command says the deaths occurred when a
joint U-S/Iraqi patrol clashed with gunmen guarding
the headquarters of a Shiite Cleric. Ten Iraqis also
died in the confrontation.
