The Kentucky Department of Education and the Council on Postsendary Education are co-sponsoring a Conference promoting successful transitions to college for students of diverse backgrounds. About 120 academically proficient students and parents are attending sessions on the WKU campus.
The keynote speaker for this morning's program is Dr. Erica Sutton, a surgeon at the University of Louisville's School of Medicine. Other sessions scheduled for the conference include financial aid, skills for transition to college, and college and career selection. This is the 25th year the Academically Proficient High School Junior and Senior Diversity Conference has been held. The two-day meeting concludes with a college fair today.
