"Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" Campaign Starts this Week

The Kentucky Office of Highway Safety is working with law enforcement agencies across Kentucky to kick off a new campaign aimed at getting impaired drivers off the road.  That campaign, which involves police at the statewide and local levels, will officially start August 17th and run through the end of the Labor Day weekend. Officials say drunk drivers will be targeted, as well as drivers who are impaired by drug abuse.

Greg Dennison of Leitchfield is a Law Enforcement Liason with the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety. He says impaired drivers continue to create hazardous conditions on the state's roadways, and he's urging citizens to use their cell phones to report suspicious drivers. Dawson Springs Police Chief Bill Crider says local law enforcement agencies are helping to provide "saturation" coverage to  get dangerous drivers off the road.
