Bowling Green, KY – Edmonson County High School Head Football Coach Kyle Pierce says he was motivated to apply for the "Dylan Grant" by the courage and unselfish attitude of four year letterman Jacob Irwin, who died from cancer last July. The grant program was started by Russell Athletic, following the death of Tennessee High School football player Dylan Rebeor. Dylan, who was suffering from colon cancer, asked that his teammates could get new uniforms.
Coach Pierce says Edmonson County High School plans to honor the life of Jacob Irwin by including his number, "53", or his initials on the new uniforms that will be available through the grant.
