Owensboro, KY – Records at the Daviess County clerk's office show that a Minneapolis based company has bought the Executive Inn Rivermont from John Bays for $10.75 million.
Bays had confirmed the sale this week to Minnesota/Owensboro Executive Inn.
Bays, a Joliet, Illinois businessman, bought the hotel for $5.5 million at a bankruptcy sale in 1999 and said he spent $14 million in renovations.
Bays has been an outspoken advocate for amending the state constitution to allow casino gambling in Kentucky.
He had said that he'd like to execute plans to build a $200 million entertainment complex that would feature a casino, arena, waterpark and convention center
