Bowling Green, KY – A good Samaritan who stopped on Interstate 65 to help a motorist who had run out of gas was killed in a traffic crash Thursday in Warren County.
State police say Robert Bivin of Louisville stopped his tractor trailer rig about two miles north of Bowling Green to assist Judy Schaffer. He got gas at a nearby exit and when the two were re-fueling her car, another tractor trailer rammed Bivin's truck, pushing it forward.
The chain reaction impact killed Bivin and injured Schaffer and two others. The driver of the second rig, 56 year old Fletcher Stiff of Nashville, wasn't hurt. No charges were filed
