Portland, TN – Federated department stores will build a distribution center in Portland, Tennessee to handle the company's internet retail sales.
The project announced Wednesday will bring more than 500 jobs to the area. A specific dollar amount of the project wasn't immediately available, but officials said the 600,000 square foot center is a key element of a Federated decision previously announced. Some $130 million in capital will be invested over the next two years to enhance its internet business.
