Few Surprises in Statewide and Congressional Races

Louisville/Bowling Green, KY – U-S Senator Jim Bunning and Congressman Hal Rogers were
among those easily winning primary elections yesterday in Kentucky.
Bunning will face Democrat Daniel Mongiardo, after Mongiardo defeated
David L. Williams of Glasgow in his primary contest yesterday.

Veteran State Senator Tom Buford won the Sixth District Republican
primary yesterday and will face incumbent Ben Chandler in the fall.
In the Fourth District, Republican Geoff Davis won his primary and
will face Nick Clooney in November.

In Louisville, Tony Miller won the Third District Democratic primary and
will run against incumbent Republican Anne Northup. In the Second
District Democratic primary, Adam Smith of Daviess County defeated
James Rice and Pete Tabb. Smith will now face incumbent Republican
Ron Lewis in the general election.
