Frankfort, KY – Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher has unveiled a
first phase of a new plan to re-organize state
government. The plan was compiled by a
Blue Ribbon Commission on Governmental
Organization and Efficiency, which had been
charged with the responsibility of devising a
new plan by Fletcher.
One of the key elements of the re-organization
will be the reduction in the number of Cabinets
from fourteen to eight. Fletcher maintains that
reducing the number of Cabinets will lead to
increased efficiency in state government.
The Fletcher Administration is expected to
release further details on the Blue Ribbon
Commission's recommendations next week.
