Fletcher Recovering from Shoulder Surgery

By AP

Lexington, KY – Governor-Elect Ernie Fletcher is at home, recovering
from shoulder surgery. The 51 year old Fletcher
underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair the
rotator cuff in his right shoulder.

Kentucky's next governor injured his shoulder
a few weeks ago when he fell on an escalator
at the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International
Airport. Surgeons say the fall aggravated an old
tennis injury.

Fletcher defeated Democrat Ben Chandler in last
week's gubernatorial race in Kentucky. He is the
first Republican elected governor in Kentucky
since 1967.
