Former State Agency Official Under Investigation

By AP

Frankfort, KY – The Fletcher Administration says the Kentucky
State Police are investigating alleged embezzlement
by a former ranking official. The former official
has been identified as Barbara Nash, who was the
Director of the Division of Administrative Services in the
Office of Financial Institutions.

Nash was dismissed in February by Cabinet Secretary
LaJuana Wilcher of Bowling Green. Wilcher says the
employee was dismissed after a review of travel
reimbursement vouchers the employee submitted and
approved.

The Associated Press reports that Wilcher says Nash
used state funds to pay her personal credit card bills and
to purchase crystal candy dishes and neon clocks.

No criminal charges have been filed in the case.
