Fort Knox, Kentucky – About 100 Fort Knox-based marine reservists who saw fighting in Iraq are on their way home. Ships carrying Company A, Eighth Tank Battalion, have set sail on their month-long voyage to the United States. The unit is made up mostly of students and workers from Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana.
Company spokeswoman Captain Jenny Potter says the reservists saw plenty of action, most significantly in firefights at the Iraqi town of An Nasiriyah in late March. None of the unit's members were injured.
