Four People from London, Kentucky Arrested for Disability Fraud
The charges stem from an investigation by the new Cooperative Disability Investigations Unit , which was created last September. The Corbin, Kentucky Social Security Administration Office reported suspected fraud during a continuing disability review. Authorities say the defendants were involved in a scheme to cash a Supplemental Security Income check issued to Eric Partain, after he died.
Forty-four year old Barbara Sands, 47 year old Versie Partain, and their two daughters were arrested on April 13th by investigators from the state Attorney General’s Office and the SSA’s Office of Inspector General.
The four entered not guilty pleas at their arraignment in Laurel District Court. Commonwealth’s Attorney Jackie Steele is handling prosecution of the case
